Toronto, located on Lake Ontario across the water from New York State, is a business capital and largest city of Canada. It is a clean, safe and vibrant metropolis, and is the center of Anglo-Canadian culture and media. However, the popular Niagara Falls are nearby, Toronto is not a city with a checklist full of attractions. Its summer festival, the spicy corners of its markets, the beachfront boardwalks and the music coming out of its neighborhood eateries, all are sufficient to allure.
This cosmopolitan city has wonderful parks, recreational, and cultural facilities. Toronto is the home of four professional sports teams and the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, behind New York and London. Toronto, which is one of the world’s most ethnically diverse cities, is a home to more than 80 ethnic communities from Africa, Asia and Europe.
Toronto has warm summer from June to mid-September, filled with festivals and events, these making it the best time for visiting it. July and August can get steamy. Many tourist-oriented facilities, attractions and accommodations reduce hours or close outside of summer, but the ones that remain open almost always have reduced rates and smaller crowds.
Fall starts from mid-September to late October, it is crisp and beautiful. Winters, which are from November to March are downright frosty, the cold spells averaging between 2°C and -10°C (35°F and 14°F). Fortunately, during the indoor arts – symphonies, theatre, opera and other sporting events, especially ice hockey, are at their liveliest during the snowy season.
Toronto is like a New York, this beautiful and cool city with its colorful ethnic mix, rich history and breathtaking architecture offers non-stop adventure for the willing tourist from the top of the CN Tower to as far as the eye can see. It is world’s most culturally and ethnically diverse spots, and remains Canada’s economic, cultural, and artistic hub, boasting very prestigious universities, dozens of refined art museums and many more galleries and art events, highbrow theater, legendary comedy clubs.
